Contact Centre Officer-

Total salary £29,307 - £34,853

£21,876 - £26,016 plus 20% Shift Allowance and 13.97% Weekend Working

Have you ever thought of becoming a Contact Centre Officer? You would be at the frontline of Policing, ensuring the public receive an outstanding service from Staffordshire Police.

You will be the first point of contact for the public dealing with emergency 999 calls and all other contacts from the public who call us for help, information and advice.

We are looking for people who think clearly whilst under pressure, and who are able to process and assess information quickly to make important decisions, throughout this time remaining calm and courteous. The role requires a great deal of multi-tasking so whilst carrying out the above you will also be accurately inputting data into various police IT systems, and gathering and assessing information from Force databases to support our frontline Police Officers and staff dealing with the Public.

As a member of the team you would be involved in a fast-paced, customer-focused Contact and Response Directorate, based at Police Headquarters, Stafford.

Now is a great time to join Staffordshire Police. We have invested in new technology to improve and enhance our engagement and contact with the public online through our force website and also via social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook – as a member of our Contact team you will have a key role in these developments.

The role in Contact is 24/7 so shift and weekend working enhancements will apply depending on the individual shift pattern.

 * Please note that applications are welcomed from all suitably qualified/experienced individuals. However prior consideration will be given to applications from individuals who are ‘at risk’ and employed by Staffordshire Police. If an appointment is made from that at-risk group, the post may be withdrawn. In this event, a representative from the People Services team will notify any affected applicants.

“Staffordshire have a strong commitment to equality and diversity in our people, within the organisation and in the services, we provide to our communities.

We want to reflect the communities we serve and one way we can try to achieve this is through a 'positive action' approach.

Positive action is activity which helps employers identify and remove barriers and issues to the recruitment, retention and progression of people who identify with underrepresented groups of the Equalities Act 2010 (i.e. LGBT+, ethnicity, disability), whilst still employing people on merit.

The Positive Action team will be holding an event on Friday 21st January 2022 at 17:00hrs
