Custody Detention Officer

 £24,993 including allowances

The Custody Detention Officer (CDO) is responsible for working with the Custody Officer, to ensure the lawful, safe and secure detention of persons and their property whilst they are held in police custody. They must help to ensure that the welfare and rights of those detained are upheld in order to facilitate an effective investigation as well as their safe transition through the Criminal Justice System. During this process they are to ensure that factual and timely entries are made in the appropriate custody record and any other relevant documentation.

You must be available to attend a 3 and a half week training course

The role will be a uniformed role however the successful candidates will be required to provide their own appropriate footwear.

The successful applicants will need to undertake Vetting, Medical and Fitness Tests (which includes a bleep test and reach the level of 5.4)

Should you be successful at shortlisting /interview you will be required to pass a fitness test

These roles are based at Northern Area Custody and Watling Street, attracts 20% shift allowance and 14.22% Weekend Working allowance. Total starting salary being £24,993.
