A new exciting opportunity has arisen as Systems and Technical Accountant. We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic, and driven Systems and Technical Accountant to join the committed finance team, managing a team of people. You will develop, manage, and maintain the organisation financial system and bridge the gap between IT & Finance. You will support an integrated approach to the core accountancy processes, making efficient use of the financial system and providing high quality and consistent financial systems advice to support effective decision making. As well as this, you’ll provide outstanding leadership and support to the team aligned to you (Finance Officers and transactional team) and be a key team member of the Finance department.

The post holder must work effectively with Finance and other colleagues to help develop a strategic and workable response to the financial challenges that Staffordshire Police face.

You will be responsible for the continuous and smooth, efficient running of the financial systems, delivering new developments and upgrades to the finance system, including testing of new software, and liaising with external consultants and providers and being the key contact point for system users’ queries and problems.

As part of this role, you will also be responsible for the maintenance of the Chart of Accounts, including hierarchies and tables. You will ensure that daily reconciliation reports are undertaken to verify that transactions from all systems have been uploaded and that all import/ export processes for all financial systems are in order.
