Forensic Quality Services Manager


Grade H (£38,376 – £44,928 p.a.)


An excellent opportunity has become available to lead Staffordshire Police forensics and policing in meeting the requirements of Forensic Science Regulator (FSR). The Forensic Quality Services Manager is the professional lead for all forensic quality issues and their governance for Staffordshire Police.


This role is responsible for leading on the implementation, accreditation and maintenance of forensic quality standards and the FSR’s Codes of Practice and Conduct across the organisation. This is achieved by:


  • Being responsible for the overall Quality Management System

     

  • Creating and agreeing a quality standards road map ensuring compliance with the FSR expectations; holding teams accountable for delivery of the plan

     

  • Creating and maintaining departmental training plans; working with Learning & Development

     

  • Developing and maintaining a performance monitoring framework for work areas and teams; working closely with the Knowledge Hub and Forensic Capability Network (FCN)

     

  • Developing a configuration authority network for digital forensic systems and processes

     

  • Forming good working relationships with regional and national quality management groups; UKAS; the FSR office, the FCN

     

  • Managing forensics compliance with regulations and guidance on information assurance, disclosure and business continuity

     

  • Being responsible for the quality standards budget


If you have significant experience of implementing and maintaining quality standards in a Forensic or scientific environment then we would like to hear from you.


You will also have experience of leadership and managing a team and be able to evidence your ability to actively encourage and support the development of others to achieve goals. The role will require representation at Force, regional and national meetings and therefore require excellent communication skills demonstrating the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a diverse range of people.
