Grade: Grade G

Salary £34,287 - £39,942

Full Time : 37 hours per week

Temporary : 12 months maternity cover

This is an exciting prospect for a highly motivated Analyst to Staffordshire Police in our Knowledge Hub.

You will provide expertise through the development and provision of intelligence analysis capable of informing and assisting decision making at a strategic, tactical, operational and organisational level.

You will identify connections in information and develop intelligence – collecting, exploiting, assessing and interpreting a range of information sources and deliver valuable, influential analysis to tack threat, risk and harm.

You will need to be a natural problem-solver who can prioritise and identify problems. Flexibility and creativity are key, as is a keen interest in data analysis. You will be part of a vital multi-faceted team, you will also need strong collaboration and negotiation skills, plus a talent for communicating clearly and succinctly. Crucially, you will be someone who can build the bigger picture from the small pieces of information.

It would be advantageous to be NIAT trained, with experience of working within tactical and investigative analysis, specifically experience of working with telecommunications data and GIS Mapping systems.

 

Key Skills:

  • Evidence of research and analysis and the application of analytical techniques, tools and systems.
  • Problem solving, critical thinking and inference development skills
  • Interpreting and simplifying complex datasets
  • Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and key partners, alongside good negotiation skills
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills: including verbal and written
  • Ability to adapt quickly, work in a high-pressure environment and provide a high level of detail with accuracy within tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise and plan own workload
  • Highly competent in the use of Microsoft packages with advances skills in Microsoft Excel

The role is working Monday to Friday, flexible with the need to provide on-call assistance.
