Data Analyst - Staffordshire Centre for Data Analytics


Location – Host Department located at Staffordshire Police Headquarters, Stafford. Will involve daily collaboration with partners located in Keele University and Staffordshire County Council, including a combination of remote working and physical attendance when required.


Staffordshire is a county with big ambitions, with a renewed sense of determination to be bold and aspirational for our residents, businesses, and places. Staffordshire has embarked on a major initiative to utilise the ever-increasing amount of public sector data, to produce actionable intelligence to address the challenges facing Staffordshire.


Network Staffordshire is an informal partnership that brings together the leaders of the county’s key public, private and higher education leaders. The Network is developing an ambitious agenda of work to raise aspirations and deliver results for people and businesses in Staffordshire, including establishing a Centre for Data Analytics


As well as creating actionable intelligence for public sector partners, the Centre will foster and grow a culture of collaboration and innovation, and be key to developing data analytics in Staffordshire.


The role:

  • Analytical delivery of use cases, over a 12 month period, to provide actionable insight to decision makers and contribute to the aims of the Staffordshire Centre for Data Analytics.
  • Work in collaboration with partners to build a shared approach and development of analytical skills for mutual benefit.
  • Is employed by Staffordshire Police, relating to the Force’s Knowledge Hub. However, the post will work full-time for the Staffordshire Centre for Data Analytics with colleagues from Staffordshire County Council and Keele University.

  • Will be led by the Centre’s Programme Lead. It will involve travel to partner locations in Keele and Stafford, as well as remote working


You will be:

•Enthusiastic and passionate about the potential of data to help tackle social and economic challenges in society

•Experienced at deploying analytical techniques and approaches to exploit data to inform decisions

•Understanding of the challenges and opportunities of data and analytics in the public sector

•Excited about the opportunity to work in collaboration with partners from across the public sector

•Someone who can demonstrate initiative and innovation with highly developed problem-solving skills

•Act as a key link between the Centre and Staffordshire Police, communicating with key stakeholders and knowledgeable individuals between the Force and the Centre
