This is an exciting prospect to work as part of a partnership between Stoke City Council and Staffordshire Police to support and inform evidence-based decision making through the Community Safety Partnership.

Following on from detailed analysis already undertaken around our local communities; where key issues and geographies have been identified, you will be part of the team developing the local response, utilising a locality framework to drive the partnership interventions and help build safe and resilient neighbourhoods.

You will provide expertise through the development and provision of intelligence and data analysis to establish and monitoring baseline assessments, identify new issues and trends and support strategic assessment of the impact of approaches and interventions put in place. The role will bring together Police and Council data to support the direction of locality partnership work and effective targeting of resources whilst advising  the appropriate partnership boards on trends, provide exception reporting and make recommendations, completing further analysis as requested.

You will need to be a natural problem-solver who can prioritise and identify problems. Flexibility and creativity are key, as is a keen interest in data analysis. As part of a vital multi-faceted team, you will also need strong collaboration and negotiation skills, plus a talent for communicating clearly and succinctly.

It is an essential requirement that you have experience in using Power BI.

 Key Skills:

  • Experienced in Power BI modelling to combine multiple datasets
  • Confident I handling geographic data to create maps
  • Evidence of research and analysis and the application of analytical techniques, tools and systems
  • Problem solving, critical thinking and inference development skills
  • Interpreting and simplifying complex datasets
  • Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and key partners, alongside good negotiation skills
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills: including verbal and written
  • Ability to adapt quickly, work in a high-pressure environment and provide a high level of detail with accuracy within tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise and plan own workload
  • Highly competent in the use of Microsoft packages with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Confident presentation skills

The role is contracted to the end of March 25, working Monday to Friday, flexible with a requirement to work at both Staffordshire Police and Stoke City Council locations.

The recruitment process will involve a combined assessment and interview with dates to be confirmed, but likely Week Commencing 26th June with the intention for the successful candidate to be in post in August.
