An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Corporate Communications and Engagement to lead the joint corporate communications and engagement department at Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing communications, engagement and brand strategies for Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, ensuring they are aligned with the vision and strategic priorities of both organisations to promote awareness, understanding and engagement amongst key stakeholders to achieve measurable outcomes in support of the strategic objectives and operational priorities.

Working closely with the two organisation’s chief officers and senior leadership teams, you will influence and develop the future strategic direction, and culture of, both organisations, particularly in relation to staff, public and stakeholder engagement.

As an established senior leader in communications who has previous experience of managing change and transformation and driving innovation, you will lead a multidisciplinary team that delivers communications outputs that play pivotal role in maintaining and building trust and public confidence. 

You will have a developed political awareness and sensitivity, and understanding of the issues facing policing and wider public services in the current and future climate. 

Your previous experience will include leading organisations through major crisis or high-profile reputational issues and you will be able to effectively build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to protect and raise the profile of both organisations locally and nationally.
