Do you want to put those investigative skills of yours to good use?

Do you fancy being part of the ‘Bigger Picture ‘within our criminal justice process?

If so then we want to hear from you

No two days are the same within the Prosecution hub and the role of Prosecution Administrator will allow you to follow the prosecution process from its very beginning, here with Staffordshire Police though to the end in the court’s arena. Whether it be traffic or crime files you’re reviewing and submitting, no two will be the same, pathing the way for a fantastic learning opportunity to develop your knowledge.

A typical day is varied and full of variety where you will be required to work both as part of a team and independently. You will need to be able to think on your feet and prioritise workload to make way for more pressing demand. You will be responsible for submitting overnight remand applications to court the same day, monitoring and responding to enquires that are submitted into the unit inbox along with general administrative duties.

You will be allocated a combination of both traffic and crime files, where you will liaise with victims and witnesses to provide them with updates and identifying vulnerabilities. You will also foster relationships with key external stakeholders who assist in providing support to the most vulnerable and gain an understanding of how they also play an important role in the process.

You will receive on the job training, along with the opportunity to shadow a substantive caseworker in the varied types of file builds we process and their quality. To support you further in your development there is also the opportunity to participate in our ‘Buddy up’ scheme.

“Staffordshire have a strong commitment to equality and diversity in our people, within the organisation and in the services we provide to our communities.

We want to reflect the communities we serve and one way we can try to achieve this is through a 'positive action' approach.

Positive action is activity which helps employers identify and remove barriers and issues to the recruitment, retention and progression of people who identify with underrepresented groups of the Equalities Act 2010 (i.e. LGBT+, ethnicity, disability), whilst still employing people on merit.
