Are you a qualified Detective, or aspiring to work towards Detective status? Maybe it’s time for a change, would you like to join a force that offers rewarding and challenging opportunities in a variety of roles? If so then a career with Staffordshire Police could be for you.

Now is an exciting time to join our Public Protection Team as we build a brand-new operating model to provide an outstanding service to protect vulnerable people.

We’ve recently secured significant investment to ensure all of our public protection teams are well resourced and we’re committed to providing training and development opportunities to ensure you have the skills and abilities to deliver support to our communities. We have opportunities for Constables, Sergeants and Inspectors and would be very interested to hear from you if you already have your detective qualification or whether you are interested in becoming a trainee detective. As we build our new PPU there are opportunities to work across our force area and in all our PPU roles whether that be child protection or adult protection, sex offender management, rape and sexual offences team or within our harm reduction hubs which are based within 10 districts across the force.

PIP2 qualified detective constables in local CID, Major & Organised Crime and PPU Investigations will receive an additional £750 annual payment, spread over 12 months, from 1 August, following approval by the Executive Management Board to implement Targeted Variable Payments (TVP).

TVP is a national scheme open to all forces, and can be made in a small number of cases, including to retain staff where there is a critical skills gap or because of the hard-to-fill nature of the role. In addition to existing DCs receiving this payment, PIP 2 qualified DCs recruited from other forces will also be offered a one-off payment of £750 to join Staffordshire Police, in addition to the annual payment.
