Special Constables are part time, voluntary police officers who work in some of the most important areas of modern policing.
Special Constables have the same powers, uniform and equipment as regular officers and work alongside our front-line as well as police staff to help keep our people, places and communities of Staffordshire safe.
Being a Special Constable is a great opportunity for you to do something special for you and your community. If you already have a career that you love, but have always wanted to become a police officer then this role is perfect for you as you can volunteer around your day-to-day life.
Working as a Special Constable allows you to make a valuable contribution to your community, provide investigative assistance and be a vital link between the police and our communities.
We’re looking for enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated individuals to volunteer a minimum of 16 hours a month in Cannock, Lichfield, Wombourne, Tamworth, Codsall, Longton, Burslem, Cheadle, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Leek
Prior to you completing an application to become a Special Constable, you will be required to attend a familiarisation evening. Please register your interest and further details will be sent to you.
Once you apply you will be able to tell us which areas you would prefer to be based in. However, whilst we are not able to guarantee you will be offered a position in your first-choice area, where possible we will endeavour to offer a position based on your preferences and location.
